ATTACHMENT-BASED DANCE & MOVEMENT GROUP
The early toddler years are a time of constant movement, exploration, and connection. Little ones are learning about their bodies, their emotions, and their relationships all at once. Sharing movement and play with a trusted caregiver can create meaningful moments of connection while supporting healthy development.
This attachment-based dance and movement group offers developmentally appropriate activities designed especially for young children and their caregivers. Grounded in Theraplay-informed activities and developmentally appropriate dance, the group supports both children and caregivers in building secure attachment, strengthening gross motor skills, and nurturing early social development.
This six-week, in-person group is designed to:
Develop gross motor skills through age-appropriate dance and movement
Foster connection and strengthen attachment between child and caregiver
Support social development through engagement and structure
Create joyful, playful experiences for both children and caregivers

ABOUT GROUP LEADER, PHOEBE MISSIOS : RESIDENT IN COUNSELING
Hi there, I’m Phoebe, a Resident in Counseling with specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I work with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on young children, pre-teens, and adolescents.
My approach is relational, compassionate, and developmentally attuned. I believe healing and growth can happen not only through talking, but also through play, movement, creativity, and shared experience. Before entering the mental health field, I spent several years teaching dance to young children—an experience that deeply shaped how I understand connection, expression, and regulation in early childhood.
I am passionate about creating spaces where children and caregivers feel safe, supported, and connected. I aim to help clients and families build insight, strengthen attachment, and engage with their emotions in ways that feel accessible and meaningful. My work is guided by the belief that with greater awareness comes intentionality, and with intentionality comes change.
I specialize in supporting children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, identity exploration, relational challenges, behavioral concerns, trauma-related experiences, and self-esteem. I also enjoy working with parents and caregivers to strengthen attachment and support the broader family system.
