Amanda Williams, M.Ed. : Pre-Licensed Therapist

My name is Amanda Williams (she/her), and I am a pre-licensed therapist trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), trauma-informed care, and creative therapeutic interventions that support emotional processing and self-discovery. I work with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on supporting young children, pre-teens, and adolescents.

As a clinician, I believe in creating a supportive and empathetic environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore their own paths to healing and growth. My approach encourages clients to engage with their emotions and experiences holistically, fostering greater self-awareness and the integration of mind, body, and emotions.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD, high-functioning autism, low self-esteem, and trauma-based disorders. I also have a passion for supporting parents through guidance and strategies to strengthen the parent-child relationship.

My Story

Growing up, I had the unique experience of being shaped by a deep cultural blend—living in Italy, while being deeply rooted in West African traditions at home, and experiencing life as a first-generation individual.

That blend of experiences taught me early on how to adapt, how to listen deeply, and how to honor where I come from. Even as a kid, I had this sense that life held so much more than what was right in front of me. I knew that if I stayed curious and open, connecting with others would expand my world—and it has. That mindset shaped my path into teaching and eventually led me to become a therapist. My cultural background isn’t just something I carry—it’s something I bring into the room, with care and intention. It helps me meet people where they are, honor what matters to them, and celebrate the parts of them that may have gone unseen.

Art and music have always been how I process life—how I express myself when words aren’t quite enough. Whether I’m painting, coloring, crafting, or designing visuals on apparel, creativity helps me move through emotions and stay connected to myself. Music grounds me too—it’s been a constant source of comfort and joy. I bring that same spirit into my work with clients: curiosity, openness, and the belief that healing doesn’t look the same for everyone. Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we create. But always, we connect—and that’s where the real work begins.
