CALLEN JONES, LPC, ATR
My name is Callen (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. I am trained in trauma-informed art therapy, sand tray therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and I am dedicated to a therapeutic relationship that is rooted in nurturance. As a counselor, I believe in the power of metaphor and in my role as a witness to your creative process. As such, I utilize talk, art, and curiosity to find a collaborative approach to facilitate healing and growth.
While in training and during my time as a professional, I have had the honor of working with an array of people in various settings. These include a partial hospitalization eating disorder program, a community clinic, a children’s hospital, and an outpatient center for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
As a therapist, I am dedicated to creating a place for your story to be held and seen through a lens of empathy and empowerment. I often define therapy as a process of welcoming home parts of self that have been set aside or forgotten. It is through this process that an integrated and compassionate self can be reborn. My hope is to create a therapy space where that whole self can be experienced, honored, and heard without the constraints or boxes various systems can place upon us.
I specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults who are wrestling with trauma-based disorders, relationship distress, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem related struggles. I have experience working with clients who have been impacted by childhood emotional neglect, attachment wounds, medical trauma, and LGBTQIA+ identity issues. I am dedicated to identity-affirming care and have a deep respect for each individual’s lived experience. This respect guides my work as a relational therapist, with the foundation being the safe and attuned therapeutic connection built together.
MY STORY
Since I was little, I’ve looked to art and dance as a place of safety and as an outlet for my internal experience. Growing up, I found that words were insufficient. Only with artistic expression could I be my true self and could I see the rawness and truth in others. It was as if judgments and labels disappeared in that creative space. When I headed off to school, I knew I wanted to explore psychology, but I found the field by itself to be missing something. This is when I discovered Art Therapy. I have found it to be such a beautiful mixture of the two worlds existent in my life, and I enjoy sharing this powerful combination with others.
I truly see my work as a journey with my clients, and I’m honored and privileged to be a part of their path towards healing.
