TUNED IN PARENTING FOR CHILDREN

Parenting big feelers is no easy task!  It requires patience, flexibility, and courage- with a hefty dose of self-awareness thrown in for good measure.  Family life can feel like a roller coaster ride when our children struggle with regulating their emotions, and sometimes it can be hard to listen while keeping our own feelings in check.. Often we become so focused on fixing behavior that we forget the importance of tuning into ourselves first. We need a new way of being with ourselves and our children to find calm in the chaos and move from conflict to connection.

Tuned-In parenting uses principles of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy and Emotion Coaching to empower parents in understanding and channeling emotions and strengthening attachment.  This six-week, virtual psychoeducation group is designed to help parents:

  • Deepen self-awareness

  • Learn about emotional regulation and coregulation

  • Develop a balanced parenting style that builds family resilience

  • Experience community and support through group process and engagement

Who: Any parent or caregiver seeking community, support, and guidance—who feels isolated, stuck, or unsure how to navigate their child’s big emotions.
When: Thursdays at 12:30pm (6 weeks)
Where: Virtually on Zoom

The total cost is $270, which covers all six sessions ($45 per session, due upfront).

Hi there, I’m Shannon, a Resident in Counseling with master’s degrees in vocal performance and pastoral counseling. I offer a spiritually inclusive and affirming space for individuals, couples, and groups, and I honor the sacred worth and diversity of all people.

I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

As a parent of three, I understand the complexities of parenting, relationships, and life transitions. The arts have been a grounding source of strength, healing, and self-expression for me—especially during times of change—and I often integrate creative approaches into my work with clients. I aim to help people find meaning, build resilience, and reconnect with their inner strengths in seasons of uncertainty or growth.

I specialize in supporting clients with stress, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, life transitions, parenting, family and marital concerns, career and identity discernment, spiritual exploration, religious trauma, and the unique challenges of the sandwich generation.
