Monthly Mindfulness art group
Join us on the second Saturday of the summer months as we together practice slowing down and savoring the little things. Our time together will intentionally involve multiple senses as we drink herbal tea, do some gentle stretching, breathe more mindfully, and engage in relaxed, process-oriented art-making.
The intention is just to be more present to ourselves and our bodies with kind attention. No art experience is needed.
Who: Adults curious about exploring creativity in a supportive, nonjudgmental space
When: Saturdays from 1:00pm - 3:00pm on June 13th, July 11th, and August 8th
Cost: $40 per group session (Come for one day or all 3!)
Where: Renew’s Community Room: 3925 Blenheim Blvd Unit 52-B, Fairfax, VA 22030
ABOUT GROUP LEADER, MINDY VAN WART : RESIDENT IN COUNSELING & PROVISIONAL ART THERAPIST
Hi there, I’m Mindy, a Resident in Counseling and Provisional Art Therapist trained in trauma-informed art therapy, IFS, CBT, and sand tray therapy. My work is also shaped by person-centered, existential, and mindfulness-based approaches. I believe art opens powerful pathways for self-awareness and authentic healing by engaging both the mind and body.
My own journey with art deepened through personal growth workshops and retreats, where I experienced firsthand how creative expression can unlock insight, connection, and transformation. That experience continues to inform how I hold space for others.
I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating grief and loss, anxiety, codependency, religious trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. It is truly an honor to offer a supportive space where you can feel seen, validated, and gently encouraged in your growth.
