The Nest: A Group for New Moms & Babies (Up to one year old)
Join us for a 4-session gathering for new moms and their babies, created to ease the isolation and self-doubt that can come with early motherhood. Together, we will build connection, community, and support through shared experience, creating space to feel seen, encouraged, and accepted exactly as you are. This group is designed to help you strengthen confidence in yourself, deepen trust in your own intuition as a mom, and connect with other mothers navigating a similar season.
We will also gently explore simple soothing practices, including humming, rhythm, and shared songs, as tools for comfort, bonding, and co-regulation with your baby. These experiences can be calming and grounding for both moms and babies, helping to slow things down and create moments of connection during a season of enormous transition.
This is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can come as you are. You do not need to have it all together. You have permission to be real, to exhale, and to be supported alongside other mothers who understand this season of life.
Who: New moms and their babies (up to one years old)
When: Tuesdays, weekly from 10:30am-12:00pm beginning June 9th
Cost: $200 for all 4 sessions
Where: Renew’s Community Room: 3925 Blenheim Blvd Unit 52-B, Fairfax, VA 22030
ABOUT GROUP LEADER, SHANNON WISE, MM, MS : RESIDENT IN COUNSELING
Hi there, I’m Shannon (she/her), a Resident in Counseling with a Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in pastoral counseling from Loyola University Maryland. I offer a spiritually inclusive, neuro-affirming space for individuals, couples, and groups, honoring the sacred worth and diversity of all people.
I integrate my backgrounds in music and counseling to bring a holistic, creative approach to therapy—one that supports emotional attunement, psychological flexibility, and self-compassion. The arts have long been a grounding source of healing and self-expression in my own life, especially during times of transition, and I often incorporate creative practices into my work with clients.
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and I support clients navigating stress, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, life transitions, parenting, relationship concerns, career and identity discernment, spiritual exploration, religious trauma, and the unique challenges of the sandwich generation.
I am passionate about helping people reconnect with their inner strengths, discover meaning, and celebrate their authentic voice.
I’m also the proud mom of three sons and two canine companions—all of whom have taught me to “sing” in more ways than I ever imagined.
