Ace Seifried (he/him) is a 16-year-old artist and student at Robinson Secondary School in Burke, VA. Originally from Centerville, VA, Ace has been an artist and art connoisseur for the past 16 years, and he has been oil painting since he was 12. Having gained artistic recognition at age 12 years old in scholastic art and writing awards, he has continued to apply for competitions and exhibit work in galleries and public spaces. These exhibits include ArtiFAX awards, scholastic art and writing awards, Pratt Precollege 26’ exhibition, Robinson Pyramid Art show, Centerville pyramid art show, Washington Studio School teen intensive exhibition 25’ and Dulles International Airport art walk 25’. After graduating from high school, Ace plans to attend college for a BFA in fine arts and minor in philosophy in order to further his artistic studies.

He is inspired by the work of a variety of artists including Viviane Browne, Mark Rothko, Francis Bacon, Leon Spilliaert and Van Gogh, among many others. Having had a vast interest in art history since middle school, he combines his artistic interests with music, literature and observed day to day scenes or imagined realities.

Growing up around the DC area, Ace is frequently in the city whether it's to take art classes, explore museums or wander the city. He enjoys exploring and spends a lot of time drawing on the metro which has inspired a lot of his work, specifically his series of Commuters. “Commuters” is a series of art depicting more rendered versions of life drawings he has done of strangers on the DC metro. After spending July taking art classes in New York, the series expanded to also depict the NY Subway. Commuters explores both human connection, and the lack of it. While humans can physically share a space, they can also be divided, especially in shared spaces such as public transportation. DC, and an interest in philosophy and government has inspired him to make artistic commentary where he sees needed on both public policy and humanitarian issues.
